Commissioned by the Bulgarian Ministry of Communications in 1987

and completed in 1988 this philatelic set was printed and released for

circulation in 1990. The fall of communism during that period caused inflation

in the country and nominal value of these stamps became irrelevant so the

practical use of the series was relatively short-lived. That in turn

somewhat increased its collectable value.
