During the 80's the Institute of Zoology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences

started an active campaign to educate the population about the environment

and its preservation and protection. The artist had the honor to be selected

to partake by preparing visual materials about the endangered wildlife. In close

cooperation with the leading national scientists in the field, he designed several

series of educational posters, matchbox labels, etc., depicting various endangered

species and their legal protected status. Five of these posters are presented here.

The caption next to each species briefly describes its natural history, its importance

and legal status. The main text contains: information about the presented group

as a whole, its role as a part of the natural world, its beneficial effect, and appeals

against the prejudices causing unnecessary extermination of these species.
