Presenting three pages of matchbox designs for the Bulgarian Ministry of Environment
commissioned back in 1986. They were intended to educate the public about particular
species of animals, their protected status under the law as well as worning of the penalties
applicable to violators. The front side shows an illustration of the animal, its name plus the
headline PROTECTED BY THE LAW. On the back there is a map showing the geographic
distribution of the species in an intentionally very generic way to avoid guiding eventual
poachers. An absent map means that the species is registered throughout the country.
The design is simple with no fluffy effects as a way to put emphasis on the information.
